In this non-traditional artist talk, Mark McKnight pays homage to the color blue–the identifying hue of his suspended cyanotypes in MOCA’s Working from Home exhibition. Through readings and songs, McKnight unravels how this primary color has enthralled him, and transformed his approach to image-making.

 

Mark McKnight (b. 1984) is the recipient of the 2019 Aperture Portfolio Prize, the 2020 Light Work Photobook Award, and a 2020 Rema Hort Mann Foundation Emerging Artist Grant. McKnight’s first monograph, Heaven is a Prison, was published by Loose Joints in September 2020.
