In 2014, Mathias Svalina started a Dream Delivery Service. Svalina takes about forty subscribers a month, then writes and delivers dream poems to them every day. He writes from his imagination on a daily basis and attempts to create a unique dream for each subscriber. Svalina hand-delivers the dreams to subscribers’ doors (for those who live within a four-mile radius of his temporary home base at MOCA Tucson), biking through the empty city streets before dawn. Subscribers outside the radius will receive their dreams by mail. Mathias Svalina is the author of five books, including Destruction Myth (Cleveland State University Poetry Center), Wastoid (Big Lucks Books), and the recently released The Wine-Dark Sea (Sidebrow Books). He is an editor for the small press Octopus Books. Since 2014, Svalina has run a Dream Delivery Service in Denver and, in the fall of 2016 through the summer of 2017, he will be delivering dreams in Richmond, Tucson, Marfa, New Orleans, and Chicago.
