Summer Camp Showcase

For the third year, MOCA Summer Camp will conclude with a special public showcase where campers bring their fantastical creatures to life in a collective parade and runway event. This celebratory afternoon will include water sprinklers, food from AZ Special Eats, free beer and rootbeer floats from Brickbox Brewery, a live DJ from KXCI, and the gathering of families, friends, and community members.

This year, MOCA Summer Camp invited youth of all ages to imagine and build Fantastical Creatures! Campers created wearable papier-mâché sculptures—artworks designed to be worn on their bodies of hybrid, unique beings. They explored layered identities, ecological interdependence, and future imaginaries by designing creatures that combine human, animal, and environmental elements.
