Join the Southern Arizona Film Society and MOCA at Splinter Collective for a special 30th anniversary screening of the restored cyber-dystopian classic FRESH KILL, featuring a rare in-person Q&A with the internationally acclaimed artist and filmmaker Shu Lea Cheang.
FRESH KILL is a highly stylised and groundbreaking film about a lesbian couple living on Staten Island who find themselves ensnared in a vast conspiracy involving nuclear waste, ominous media messages, and deadly cat food. Combining stunning production design, gorgeous 35mm photography, and a soundtrack from Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, this head-spinning piece of eco-cyber-noia is “a celebration of multicultural diversity…in a world whose existence is endangered by ever expanding pollution of the mind as well as the planet!” (Los Angeles Times).
The screening will take place at Splinter Collective, located at 901 N. 13th Ave., Tucson, AZ 85705. Tickets: $15. Purchase tickets here.
