MOCA’s Community Clothing Swap

MOCA’s Community Clothing Swap

June 26, 2021 5:00 PM - 7:00PM

In conjunction with the current exhibition Pia Camil: Three Works, MOCA is hosting a community-wide clothing swap.

Bring your unwanted clothes and leave with new-to-you garments! While you swap, enjoy music, local food trucks, and refreshing drinks to inspire your recycled fashion wardrobe.

Held in artist Pia Camil’s exhibition made of secondhand t-shirts and overstock carpeting, MOCA’s Community Clothing Swap provides a fun, sustainable way to update your wardrobe while promoting re-use and barter economies. The free event offers an alternative to overconsumption and fast fashion clothing industries, cultivating self-determination and collectivity–all themes addressed in Pia Camil: Three Works.

This is a free event. For admission to the clothing swap, MOCA asks you to contribute one used garment and record the story of its significance. Your clothing and story will then be incorporated into Camil’s exhibition. In return, you’ll receive a $10 giftcard to Bookmans Entertainment Exchange (Arizona’s largest used bookstore) to continue the cycle of reuse!

Masks are required at this event.
