Dutch artist Folkert de Jong will discuss the evolution of his work over the past twenty years, discussing themes of power, economy, politics, war, and ecology in his work. Recent solo exhibitions of his work have been presented at James Cohan Gallery, NYC; Musee d’Evreux, France; Middelheim Museum Antwerp, Belgium; Mudam Modern Art Museum, Luxembourg; Portland Art Museum; Mackintosh Museum Glasgow, Scotland; Musas Museo de Arte de Sonora, Hemosillo, Mexico; Wadsworth Atheneum Museum, Hartford; and the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art. His work has been included in notable group exhibitions including After Picasso: 80 Contemporary Artists at the Wexner Center for the Arts; Cryptic: The Use of Allegory in Contemporary Art at the Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis; and Shape of Things to Come: New Sculpture at Saatchi Gallery, London.
