Autonomous Space Series

Autonomous Space Series

Saturdays, July-September

MOCA presents the Autonomous Space Series, a season of free summer public programs in conjunction with current exhibition Pia Camil: Three Works.

Attend a lecture about immigration law, groove to live music, stretch out in an art-focused yoga class, and more! The Autonomous Space Series is made for and by MOCA’s public, demonstrating the breadth of creative, social, and active interests of Tucson’s community. All events are free and open to the public. See below for the full lineup of events.

The series takes place on Autonomous Space Rug, a new site-specific artwork by artist Pia Camil that covers the entire floor of MOCA’s Great Hall with a patchwork of overstock carpet overlaid with a hand-painted diagram that demarcates safe social-distancing parameters and offers a schematic inspired by decentralized methods of organization. The artwork is an invitation to the community to gather for pandemic-safe activities.
