ArtNow! with Dr. Paul Ivey
Salons, Biennials, and Beyond
Thursday 30 March • 6pm
By popular demand, Paul Ivey will discuss the tradition of the group exhibition beginning with the French and British Royal Academies of Art Salons of the 17th and 18th centuries, up to the Whitney Biennial and the current exhibition at MOCA. Dr. Ivey, Professor of Art History in the University of Arizona’s School of Art, is a frequent presenter at MOCA’s ArtNow! He upends the traditional art history lecture and invites questions and alternate views.
ArtNow! gives you the opportunity to share your thoughts on the wildly disparate practices and objects collectively known as “the art of our time.” Guests are encouraged to participate, share, and engage in this playful rendition upending the traditional art history lecture format.
FREE for MOCA members, non-members $10
Admission includes light snacks and refreshments
