To celebrate the closing of Pia Camil: Three Works, MOCA presents an intimate conversation with artists Pia Camil and Gabriela Muñoz in an open-air setting, moderated by curator-at-large Laura Copelin. 

The artists will speak about collectivity, collaboration, and their practices as artist-mothers, in addition to intersecting themes between their exhibitions at MOCA. This event is free and open to the public with advanced registration. 

Closing Sunday, September 19: Pia Camil: Three Works 

Opening Friday, October 8: Mujeres Nourishing Fronterizx Bodies – Muñoz’s exhibition with collaborator M. Jenea Sanchez, Ammi Robles and the colectiva DouglaPrieta Trabajan

Registration is required to attend. 

Seating will be prearranged by MOCA staff to allow for safe social distancing. If you plan to attend the event as part of a group (2 or more), please reserve tickets for all group members together under one name and your seats will be grouped together. For the safety of all patrons, staff, and presenters, seats may not be moved during the event.

To ensure the safety of all museum visitors and staff, please note the following protocols will be followed at this event:

  • All visitors and staff are required to wear masks and practice social distancing at all times when on the museum premises (indoor and outdoor), regardless of vaccination status.
  • MOCA will not allow visitors to consume food or drink on the premises (with the exception of water from a sealable container).
  • Capacity will be limited to 30 attendees with advanced registration required.
