Art Now! with Dr. Paul Ivey

ArtNow! gives you the opportunity to engage with wildly disparate practices collectively known as “the art of our time” during this playful lecture series. Dr. Paul Ivey is Professor of Art History teaching Modern and Contemporary Art. He researches the built environments and compounds of alternative and esoteric American religious and communal groups. He is the author of Radiance from Halcyon: A Utopian Experiment in Religion and Science and Prayers in Stone: Christian Science Architecture in the United States, 1894-1930. His research interests include metaphysical, Eastern, and esoteric religions in the United States that evolved during the Progressive Era. For this lecture, Dr. Ivey will be presenting on mysticism, spirituality, and the occult in contemporary art in celebration of MOCA Tucson’s current exhibition.
