Like the night-blooming cereus cactus that is native to the Sonoran Desert, artists possess a remarkable ability to bring beauty and meaning to the world in the darkest of times. Artists are facing a range of challenges in this unprecedented moment of social, financial, and political turmoil, and organizations like ours are called to redouble efforts to support local artists.
Night Bloom: Grants for Artists of the Sonoran Desert is a collaborative effort by MOCA Tucson and the ASU Art Museum, in partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. In light of the COVID-19 crisis, we will distribute $60,000 in emergency artist grants. Night Bloom aims to reinforce the visual arts communities of the area with critical financial support, and to bring growth and visibility to the diverse and dynamic artistic practices of the Sonoran Desert region. Sixty individual $1,000 USD grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Requirements:
The emergency fund is open to all self-identifying visual artists who have declared a need for assistance for basic expenses. Artists must be legally allowed to work in the United States, and reside within the Phoenix/Tucson metropolitan areas. Submission of a CV/Resume and three images are required (a link to an artist website is optional). Applicants will be reviewed for eligibility and grants will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis, with all grants distributed in 2020.

Al igual que los cactus cereus que florecen en la noche y son nativos del Desierto Sonorense, los artistas poseen una notable capacidad para aportar belleza y significado al mundo en los tiempos más oscuros. Artistas se están enfrentando a una serie de desafíos sin precedentes con tumultos sociales, económicos y políticos, organizaciones como la nuestra son llamadas a redoblar esfuerzos en apoyo a los artistas locales.
Night Bloom: Subsidios para artistas del Desierto Sonorense es un esfuerzo de colaboración de MOCA Tucson y el Museo de Arte de ASU en consorcio con la fundación Andy Warhol para las Artes Visuales. A la luz de la crisis de COVID-19, distribuiremos $60,000 USD en subsidios de emergencia para artistas. Requisitos:
El fondo de emergencia está abierto a todos los artistas que se identifiquen a sí mismos como artistas visuales y que han declarado la necesidad de asistencia para gastos básicos. Los artistas deben tener permiso legal para trabajar en Estado Unidos y residir dentro de las áreas metropolitanas de Phoenix/Tucson. Se requiere la entrega de un CV/Currículo y tres imágenes (un enlace a un sitio web de un artista es opcional). Los aplicantes serán evaluados para determinar su elegibilidad y los subsidios se otorgarán por orden de llegada, todos los subsidios se distribuirán en el 2020.
