Stay Gold: Theater II Clown School
April 30 - May 28, 2026
5:30 - 8:00 PM
Following the success of our first Theater workshop, we’re thrilled to welcome Kizmet Grace back for a second iteration! Theater II: Clown School invites returning and new participants to engage the expressive play potential of live theater.
Don’t be fooled (but do be a fool), we’re not talking red nose, honk honk, juggling circus clown here. This session is grounded in principles of clowning, a medium that embraces and elevates the depth of our lived experiences and offers a freedom of expression.
This workshop will primarily focus on performance, and as such entails an amount of playing with risk-taking, nerves, and vulnerability, transforming fear into fun. This is an invitation to break all the rules and get silly together. We’ll use improvisation, collaborative composition, character work, and LOTS OF GOOFY GAMES to explore and celebrate what it means to be our messy, beautiful, strange selves.
Cost: Free
Ages: Youth and adults (ages 13+)
Dates: April 30 – May 28
Time: Thursdays, 5:30 – 8:00 PM

About Kizmet Grace
Kizmet Grace is an artist of all sorts and a lifelong theater freak committed to upending consensus reality through active and enthusiastic participation. He seeks to unbridle himself from internalized narratives about art and artistry, follow the path of truest expression, and generate energy to pour back into himself and the people he loves. He wants to do all of that with you! Right now, he’s really excited about textile creation, clothing and costume design, puppets, and performance, though that changes all the time. He works in the wardrobe for Broadway in Tucson and sews in the costume shop at the Arizona Theatre Company. He is proud to have performed as Wendle the Wonderful in Nyx and the Long Night (Olympia Family Theatre), ensemble puppeteer for Bread and Puppet Circus (Bread and Puppet Theater), and Lord Farquaad in Punk Shrek (Gay) The Play (Mantis House). He is a proud clown school dropout.
