Applications are now being accepted at MOCA Tucson for the Museum Studies Internship Program (MSIP) – SPRING 2020
MOCA inspires new ways of thinking through the cultivation, interpretation and exhibition of cutting-edge art of our time.
SUMMARY: MOCA Tucson invites undergraduate and graduate students interested in gaining experience in all areas of a Contemporary Art museum setting to apply for the Museum Studies Internship Program. Interns will gain experience in: visitors services, curatorial, exhibitions, public programs, education, and development. Internships are an excellent opportunity for students to learn first hand the ins and outs of a Contemporary Art museum while earning course credit.It is preferredthat interns have some knowledge ofContemporary Art and have prior experience in customer service.
Duration: January – May 2020
1. Work with each department to gain knowledge of day-to-day operations 2. Helping with Visitors Services where needed
3. Assisting with exhibition openings, lectures, and events
1. Assigned readings
2. Midterm – Written response 3. Final project
Salary: This is an unpaid internship taken for class credit.
